Hey there everyone! My name is Kali, from The Vintage Milk House! First of all, I want to thank Randee for having me here today! So happy to be over here with you all!!!
I am a twenty-something Wife and Mother of 3. I recently left the business world to stay home with my 3 Little Ones who are 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 9 months! Wow, what a change?! I thought running my own business open to close, head to toe, was a lot of work! However, I chose to stay home because I wanted to INTENTIONALLY raise my children. I felt like my husband and I were loosing out on so much that we wanted to experience with them both big and small. Now, while some days I feel like I'm loosing my mind, I know that I am on the right path. I did however, struggle for a while in balancing who I was. Even though I felt so rewarded being a full time Mom I still struggled with myself. It wasn't until recently that the pieces began fall into place.
A few years ago after a kitchen remodel I stumbled upon my passion of re-finishing, re-creating, re-purposing just about anything I can get my hands on! I LOVE to make something old into something new or junk to personalized treasure! At the time we were living on my Grandparent's farm and the old Milk House became my sanctuary for all things creative!
So, in conjunction, raising 3 kids and my passion for writing hence forth became a natural fit with all things creatively flowing from The Vintage Milk House. It now serves as a wonderful place for me to reflect upon our family's growth, my project and ideas. and best of all I have found a tremendous community of women doing very much the same!!!
My kids as well as myself just can't get enough of these AWESOME little cubes in the bath tub!
Colored Ice Cubes!
My kids are water babies. No question about it. So when it's bath time around here it's all hands on deck!
This is a simple way to add a little (more) excitement to the bath time routine. - In my case with 3 little ones this keeps one occupied while I'm dressing another after their bath. And so on.
They love chasing the colors around while they melt. This is always a great opportunity to work on color names with my 2 year old.
Pretty simple - this is all I do:
Fill each tray just as I would have for regular ice cubes.
& then simply added drops of food coloring till I am happy with the color.
& Stir it up! (Thanks to the hubs for doing the stirring while I was clicking away with the camera!)
Try it out - their bath water doesn't look so appetizing after all the melting but who cares - They love it!

does the food coloring stain the skin or the tub?
ReplyDeleteI was curious as well. Does it?
