Fruit Salsa
Pinned on Pinterest from http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/ GREAT BLOG!Fruit Salsa with Baked Cinnamon Chips
by Allrecipes
2 Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and diced
8 ounces raspberries
1 (16 oz) carton of strawberries, diced
2 tablespoons white sugar (more or less to taste)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (more or less to taste)
3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor (I used strawberry)
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
melted butter or butter flavored cooking spray
Cinnamon sugar:
1 cup white sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3.Coat one side of each flour tortilla with melted butter or butter flavored cooking spray. Sprinkle tortillas with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Spray again with cooking spray (not necessary if using melted butter).
4.Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit mixture. This salsa can also be serve with cinnamon graham grackers or cinnamon pita chips. Best when made and eaten the same day otherwise the fruit gives off so too much juice and it gets runny.

German Chocolate Cake
Cake Ingredients
4 oz Baker's German Chocolate
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
Mix German chocolate with the boiling water, stir until mixed well. Set aside
Mix butter and sugae until fluffy. Slowly add egg yolks while the mixture is beating. Mix until no more yellow is evident. Add chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Sift flour and add baking soda and salt.
Alternate adding the milk and the flour mixture to your butter mixture as it is beating. Mix until smooth.
In another mixer or bowl, beat your egg whites until fluffy! May take about 5 minutes!
After they are fluffy, very slowly FOLD them into the cake batter!
You will need to grease and flour 3 cake pans! I put wax paper in the bottem of mine!
Now divide the batter evenly between the 3 pans.
Bake in PRHEATED oven at 350 for 30-40 minutes! Test with a toothpick!
When finished let cool on a cooling rack!
Icing Ingredients
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 beaten egg yolks
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups coconut
2 cups ROASTED chopped pecans
In a mediun sauce pan, combine all ingredients except the coconut and the pecans. Cook for 12 minutes on medium heat. Stir constantly or it will stick. Add coconut and pecans!
I usually end up using more but I just keep adding the coconut and pecans until I get the consistency that I want! Let cool!
When cool, frost the cake!
Add frosting in between all layers and then cover the top! I ALWAYS double the recipe to make sure that I have enough!!!!!
ENJOY!!!

Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Roll loaf or combined dinner rolls into a 12x16-inch rectangle. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 10-15 minutes. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and let cool slightly. Remove wrap from dough. Place spaghetti lengthwise in a 4-inch strip down center of dough. Top with sauce and cheese cubes. Make cuts 1 1/2-inches apart on long sides of dough to within 1/2-inch of filling. Begin braid by folding top and bottom strips toward filling. Then braid strips left over right, right over left. Finish by pulling last strip over and tucking under braid. Lift braid with both hands and place on a large, sprayed baking sheet. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic. Bake at 350°F 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. When take from oven brush with melted butter! Cool slightly and slice to serve.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I CAN NOT WAIT to try these recipes!
ReplyDeleteI made Juleah's spaghetti for dinner last night. My kids do not like spaghetti at all, because they hate tomato sauce. They LOVED this. It makes a ton of food and is super easy to make. I do not really enjoy cooking and the short list of ingredients made my decision to try it. My husband told me tonight it was the best left over he has ever eaten. I will be watching to see what tastyness you put up next Randee! Do you take requests? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSURE!!! Send me any request you want!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteOKAY!! I know we all like to hear, "You were right" and we don't ever hear it enough....SO...YOU WERE RIGHT!! We loved the Juleah's Spaghetti and both my kids asked for more! It was just the right amount of spices for us and we used the mild Italian sausage! My neighbor came and ate a bowl after I took over a sample, and she is going to make it for Bunco this week with a salad and garlic bread and also with a pot of Zuppa Toscana (for Italian night)!! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and we DO NOT have much left over....
