Chaotic Christmas Countdown
Day 62
and
Creating Christmas
Day 3
I am still HUNGOVER from cookies!!!! The Cookie Exchange was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! Today was nice to be able to wake up and not be on any schedule!!! Just a little bit on "me" time this AM and started a few new projects!!! :)
Today I am going to show how to make
FAUX MERCURY GLASS!!!! It is supposedly the "HOT,HOT,HOT" thing to have this season and since most of us do not have TONS of money lying around....why not make it CHEAP!!!! ;)
I hope that you can see the BEAUTY of the glass after a very QUICK and SIMPLE technique!!
Take any clear glass container that you want to use!!! Then you can either lightly spray with water or use your fingers and flick water into the container!!! I chose the "flicking" technique!!! ;)
I hope you can see the water droplets!!!
Then you LIGHTLY spray the inside with
Krylon "Looking Glass" spray paint!!! It is at Hobby Lobby for $11.99 but I showed them my 40% off coupon!!!! ;)
Spray with VERY SHORT, QUICK spurts!!!!
Let it dry and repeat until you get the desired results you are looking for!!! I have read that you need to let it dry over night between coats but I just waited about an hour and applied it 3 times!!!
I am NOT A PATIENT PERSON!!!!
This is after the 1st coat!!!
I added a bow and some feathers and
VOILA!!!!! SUPER, DUPER CUTE!!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!!!!!!! ;)
See you tomorrow for
Day 63 and Day 3!!! ;)
I am so glad you did this. I tried it the other night and it didn't turn out right. NOW I know why!!!
